About HEPIC

HEPIC is a consortium of IC design engineers and physicists working in High Energy Physics (HEP) instrumentation. Our goal is to exchange information and coordinate activities at a a national level. The current membership of HEPIC can be seen here. The HEPIC organization provides a forum for ASIC designers to interact, synchronize on technical matters such as foundry processes to standardize on, and advocate for common needs. Workshops are held periodically and training and workforce development activities are organized.
HEPIC is affiliated with CPAD (the Coordinating Panel for Advanced Detectors).

HEPIC Traineeship Program

The HEPIC Traineeship Program provides graduate students interested in integrated circuit design with an opportunity to learn about the types of experiments conducted at Department of Energy (DoE) national laboratories around the country, which work on high energy physics (HEP) including various particle accelerators. OPEN SOUCE RESOURCES

Open source IC design is a growing trend to address issues of collaboration, training, access, automated opimazation, etc. This is of great interest to the HEP community, not to fully replace traditional proprietary design, but to replace parts of ot and augment others.   Links to resources:
